At SIWOLO P.O LAW ADVOCATES, our Tax Law practice is led by Eric Kinoti, a seasoned tax expert with over 18 years of experience in accounting, audit, finance, tax advisory and compliance. Eric is the Founder and Managing Director of TruQuantum Consulting and the Managing Partner at Kinoti & Company (Firm Practicing No. PF/999). His experience spans leading organisations including CFAO Automotive (Dt. Dobie & Co. (K) Ltd), ABSA Bank Kenya (formerly Barclays Bank of Kenya) and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

Qualifications

Eric holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B), a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Strategic Management, a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance), is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA(K)), and is currently pursuing the Advocates Training Programme at the Kenya School of Law.

Sector Experience

Eric advises clients across sectors including agriculture, infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, media, education, non-profit organisations, real estate, technology, telecommunications, e-commerce, transportation and logistics, financial services and government. His expertise covers Corporate Income Tax, Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE), Withholding Tax, Value Added Tax (VAT), Excise Duty and Customs Duty.

Scope of Practice

He regularly advises on tax implications for business establishment in Kenya, assists start-ups and SMEs in achieving tax compliance and efficiency, undertakes tax restructuring assignments across Kenya and the wider East African region, conducts finance and tax due diligence, represents taxpayers in Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) audits, objections and disputes before the Tax Appeals Tribunal (TAT) and through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), coordinates tax health checks, manages VAT refund audits, reviews commercial and employment contracts from a tax perspective, and actively contributes to the development of tax policy and legislation through engagement with government stakeholders.
